Frequently Asked Questions

What style of yoga will I learn?

The various styles of yoga being taught today are simply variations of traditional Hatha Yoga, which entails doing body postures. You will learn an assortment of Hatha Yoga styles, with a primary emphasis on Kripalu and Amrit Yoga. Both of these styles are comprehensive forms of traditional yoga, based on the timeless teachings of Yogi Amrit Desai, an internationally renowned yoga master of India (and Aileen’s preceptor). Kripalu and Amrit Yoga are taught by many thousands across the globe. The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts, is one of the largest and most popular yoga centers in the US.

How will Amrit Yoga affect my body?

You will learn how to slowly, methodically stretch tension from your body. You will become relaxed and limber, through the practice of various strategic movements. Combined with ancient deep breathing techniques, the body postures will stimulate better functioning of all of the physical systems. You will learn to honor the wisdom of your unique bodily feedback throughout the class, and thus, you will have no inclination to compete with other students
